In July 2011, the Hospital was awarded the Pro-Sustainability Green Seal by Instituto Mais – a private, not-for-profit institution dedicated to research and social and environmental training. This recognition was the result of the implantation of the ASP - STERRAD® system, used to sterilize materials.
The average consumption of a regular steam sterilizer is 400 liters of water and 17KW of energy per cycle. This equipment does not use water and consumes just 6% of the energy of a steam cycle. That is, the news system allows the responsible use of natural resources.
